Two programs fall under the American Standard Dog Training umbrella: Board & Train and Raise & Train. Both programs are about quality, not quantity, so each dog gets the attention it deserves.
The Board & Train Program is designed to transform your dog into a well-mannered, obedient companion over a 6-week period. This program is best for dog owners looking to significantly improve their dog’s behavior in real-world settings. Your dogs live at home with the trainer and get the same level of personalized care and attention as their personal dogs. They’ll get the VIP treatment, and by the end of the program, they’ll be ready to handle any situation. Plus, it’s backed by a lifetime guarantee, so you’re never on your own.
The Raise & Train Program is the ultimate start for your puppy, beginning as early as 8 weeks old. Your puppy will receive full-time care, socialization, and training, giving them the best possible foundation for obedience and behavior.

Yes! Our trainers have everything covered, including your dog's meals. Every dog is fed high-quality Royal Canin during training, so there’s no need to bring any food unless your pup has specific dietary needs. If your pup does have special requirements, just send their food with them when they start training, and we'll make sure they're well taken care of!
Garret and our certified trainers work closely with trusted local vets to ensure the best care if your dog needs medical attention. We’ll keep you in the loop and consult with you on the best action plan to ensure your dog is in great hands.
Absolutely! We stand by our training with a lifetime guarantee. The goal is to arm you with all the tools you need to keep your dog on track. We’re committed to making sure your investment lasts for the long haul.
Once your dog completes our program, they’ll be at a service dog level of obedience— fully capable and ready for additional service-specific training. To be considered a service dog, your pup needs to be obedient in all environments, all the time, and our Board and Train program makes sure that’s covered.
It’s simple, with the $20K package, Garret Wing personally trains your dog, while the $10K package is handled by one of our top-notch certified trainers who work closely with Garret throughout the process. All of our certified trainers are either active/former Police K9 trainers OR have trained extensively with Garret, and all trainers have their own dogs at home that will regularly interact with dogs in training.
Our standard program runs for 6 weeks, but we’re all about results, not timelines. If your dog needs a bit more time to reach its best, we’ll extend the training at no extra charge. We’re committed to ensuring your dog comes home fully trained, not just on schedule.
We’re not a dog training factory. While other programs juggle 10+ dogs with little attention from an expert, your dog gets the VIP treatment here. Trained by a master trainer, we focus on creating real-world, reliable obedience using a balanced approach that blends positive reinforcement with necessary corrections.
But it’s not just about training your dog; it’s about empowering you as the owner. Typically, you’ll come for a check-in around Week 4 and take-home training at the end. We want to make sure you have all the tools and knowledge you need to keep up your dog’s progress. Each session is at least 2 hours, but we block out the whole day if needed, unlike other programs that might spend just an hour with you.
You’ll also receive 2-3 videos a week via WhatsApp, plus lots of photos. And you’re never alone— you can call or text your trainer anytime. You’ll have direct access to your trainer’s phone number and contact info.
As a bonus, you get instant lifetime access to all our online courses ($2500 value), premium membership benefits, and any future courses we release. We’re here to make sure your dog’s training—and your experience—is top-notch from day one.
Your dog lives at home with its trainer. Some of our trainers have even converted their garages into professional, climate-controlled kennels, and all of them will make sure your pup gets the comfort of a home environment. They’ll be a part of the family, interacting with everyone, including kids and kennel techs. Each dog will have two official training sessions per day during meal times, but of course, every moment is a training opportunity.
To lock in your start date, we require a 10% non-refundable deposit. You’ll pay 50% of the balance when you drop off your dog and the rest when the training is complete. We give you 24 hours to sign the contract and make the deposit to secure your spot—with no pressure from us if you decide to change your mind. We also offer discounts for law enforcement officers and veterans, and financing is available in specific cases.
Nope, because we don’t believe in shortcuts. Our minimum program length is 6 weeks because that’s what it takes to produce real, lasting results. Anything less is a disservice to both you and your dog.
Yes, and here’s why—trying to train your dog without an e-collar is like driving a car without a steering wheel. The e-collar is a crucial tool that ensures your dog’s obedience is reliable, even without treats. The more we use it in training, the less you’ll need it in real life.
When your dog finishes the program, it will need a place board, but everything else will be provided to you—including professional-grade custom-fit flat and prong collars, an E-collar, a leash, and more!
Not sure what placeboard to buy? Don’t worry, you’ll have access to the American Standard K9 Shop with all of our favorites.
You will need to drop off your dog to the trainer, and, ideally, you would visit at the Week 4 check-in and pick them up at the end of the training program. That way you can see the progress that’s been made with your dog and work through exercises to keep up the good behavior at home.
You can have the trainer drop your dog to you, but there is an additional $5,000 fee for this service. The fee covers first-class transport, hotel, and rental car expenses, making sure your dog has a smooth transition back to your home.
The sweet spot is around 4-6 months old, but we can start as early as 8 weeks with our Raise & Train program. The earlier we start, the better the results. We also handle all vaccinations and vet visits if your pup isn’t fully vaccinated.
Our Raise & Train program starts your puppy’s journey as early as 8 weeks old, ensuring their first experiences set the stage for lifelong good behavior. Over the next 12 weeks, our certified trainers will handle everything from potty and crate training to socialization and environmental exposure, building strong habits through daily, consistent training. By starting early, we prevent bad habits from forming, so you don’t have to deal with sleepless nights or chewed-up furniture. You’ll get regular updates, photos, and videos, keeping you in the loop on all the progress. When your pup returns home at around 5 months old, they’re fully trained and ready to fit right into your life without the usual puppy chaos—just a well-behaved, happy dog.
We generally discourage visits (other than the Week 4 Check-In and end-of-training session) as they can disrupt your puppy’s progress. However, you’ll get regular photo and video updates so you won’t miss a thing. If you’re set on visiting, we won’t stop you—just know it can set your pup back a bit.
At American Standard, the goal is to ensure our program is the perfect fit for everyone involved—your dog, you, and our trainers. It’s not just about you choosing our program - it’s also about us making sure we’re the right team to help your dog succeed. That means we’re looking for clients as committed to their dog’s transformation as we are. If it’s the right match, you can count on us to go all in to get the results you’re looking for.
